Das Problem mit dem Grafikchip ist, dass er so alt ist und deshalb vom
proprietären ATI-Treiber nicht unterstützt wird.  Für die alten Chips
ist auch keine Unterstützung in Zukunft geplant.  Damit fällt also der
proprietäre Treiber weg.

Somit bleibt als einzige Möglichkeit der <code>vesa</code>-Treiber.
Das klingt erst einmal fürchterlich langsam, so schlimm ist das aber
gar nicht.  Der <code>xvidix</code>-Treiber von <code>mplayer</code>
ist ausreichend schnell, andere Sachen, z.B. das Scrolling im
<code>xterm</code>, sind merkbar langsamer.  Wenn das zu langsam ist,
dann muss man sich zwei verschiedene X-Konfigurationen basteln (eine
mit <code>radeon</code> für z.B. 3D-Beschleunigung und eine mit
<code>vesa</code> für TV-Ausgabe).  Mir persönlich reicht die
<code>vesa</code>-Geschwindigkeit aber auch zum Arbeiten auf dem TFT
aus und 3D brauche ich sowieso nicht.

The only driver left is Xfree86's <code>vesa</code> driver.  While
this sounds very slow, it's not that bad.  <code>mplayer</code>'s
<code>xvidix</code> driver is fast enough while other things
(e.g. scrolling in an xterm) are slower.  If it is too slow for you,
you must work with two different Xserver configurations (one with
<code>vesa</code> for TV-out and one with <code>radeon</code> for
normal work or 3D acceleration).  Personally, <code>vesa</code> is
fast enough for me and I don't use 3D acceleration, so I'm happy with
<code>vesa</code>.
